A small part of the generalized Riemann hypothesis states that L-functions do not have zeros on the line segment (1/2,1]. But, until recently, this was known only for finitely many L-functions. We will report on joint work with Brian Conrey which gives a large infinite family of L-functions having no non-trivial real zeros.Date: Friday, October 19, 2001
