We present an elementary energy method for the Boltzmann equation. The method is based on the conservation laws and the H-theorem, two basic notions of Boltzmann equation. This is in constract to previous energy method using the spectral analysis. We decompose the Boltzmann equation as well as the H-thoerem into macroscopic and microscopic parts and make uses of theory for conservation laws from gas dynamics.
