Title: Real connective K-theory of classifying spaces

The connective K-theory of a finite group provides a deformation from the cohomology to the representation ring. In joint work with John Greenlees, we have found what appears to be the most effective path to calculations of both the real and complex connective K-homology and cohomology of the classifying space of a finite group.

I will start by reviewing what Spec(E^*(BG)) sees of the subgroup structure of G, for various cohomology theories E, in order to place connective K-theory in context. Then I will summarize what we know about the complex case. The rest of the talk will focus on what we can say to date about the real case.
