Title: Cohomology and deformations of lambda-rings
Speaker: Professor Donald Yau
Speaker Info: University of Illinois
Brief Description:

Abstract:

Lambda-rings, first introduced by Grothendieck, are widely used in algebra, representation theory, and algebraic topology. The purposes of this talk are (i) to describe a cohomology theory for lambda-rings and (ii) to apply such a theory to study algebraic deformations of lambda-rings along the lines of Gerstenhaber's deformation theory.
