Abstract:

On a Dynamical Systems Problem in Theoretical Physics

In this talk, I will discuss how dynamical quantities such as Lyapunov exponents, metric entropy, topological pressure, and a number of dimension-like characteristics change under smooth changes of the time parameterization. I will show a local equivalence between time and metric transformations, and discuss the significance of these results for the study of chaos in physics.
