Topology Seminar

Title: On the Morava K-theory of some infinite loop spaces
Speaker: Justin Noel
Speaker Info: RMA, Strasbourg
Brief Description:
Special Note: Special Time and Place.
Abstract:

I will review some of the major theorems related to the Morava K-theory of infinite loop spaces and show how these results can be used to recover a number of classical theorems in algebraic topology, as well as some generalizations. Some examples include the work of Hodgkin and Snaith on the K(1) homology of J and the work of Madsen-Snaith-Tornehave on detecting infinite loop maps by transfer maps.
