In a recent work-in-progress with J. Wunsch, we consider some simple surfaces of revolution with a degenerate hyperbolic periodic geodesic. In the non-compact setting we prove some local smoothing estimates with loss for the linear Schr\"odinger equation, while in the compact setting we prove some weak non-concentration estimates for eigenfunctions.
