I'll discuss some joint work with Hopkins on the weirdness that is equivariant localization of commutative rings. I'll then sketch a framework which presents these somewhat categorically, describing a candidate for G-symmetric monoidal categories. I'll finish with a conjectural application to Eilenberg-MacLane spectra.
