Title: Parabolic flows in complex geometry
Speaker: Ben Weinkove
Speaker Info: UCSD / Northwestern

Abstract:

Parabolic flows are powerful tools in the study of geometric structures on manifolds. I will discuss the Ricci flow on Kahler manifolds, and describe what we know about its behavior in one and two complex dimensions. I will also discuss a flow called the Chern-Ricci flow, which makes sense on non-Kahler complex manifolds. The talk will be aimed at a general audience. I will mention some results which are joint with Song, Song-Szekelyhidi and Tosatti.
