Let p be a prime, and let G_N=SL_d(Z/p^N). I will talk about the limit, as N tends to infinity, of the Dijkgraaf--Witten 2d TQFTs associated to G_N. These limits converge for surfaces of high enough genus, and then can be meromorphically continued to small genera. Time permitting, I will talk about the limit of these theories as p tends to infinity.
