Abstract:

The six operations is a formalism that attaches to every map of spaces $f: X \rightarrow Y$, a slew of transformations you can perform to sheaves on both spaces. This turns out to be a powerful toolkit that allows one to import classical theorems in algebraic topology to other settings. We will given an idea of what these operations are and then goof around with consequences of their existence through various examples.
