Abstract:
n this talk we introduce a fundamental class of subsets of C^n, n > 1: the domains of holomorphy. We discuss how these sets generalize their one-variable counterparts, and explore a few surprising difficulties that arise in their study. We then focus on the restrictions of holomorphic functions to the boundaries of these domains, where we encounter several problems from PDE with strong ties to Fourier analysis, algebraic geometry, and differential geometry.Date: Friday, January 22, 2016
