Let K be a unramified p-adic field and X a proper smooth scheme over O_K. Fontaine-Messing theory asserts that certain p^n-torsion crystalline cohomology and etale cohomology are connected via tensoring a suitable period ring. In this talk, I will explain our attempt to generalize this theory to relative case, namely, the base ring O_K is replaced by R= O_K[[t]]. This collaborated work with Yong Suk Moon and Deepam Patel.
