Abstract:
I will talk about the problem of delooping spaces of smooth maps D^m -> D^n of discs, n>=m, coinciding with the fixed coordinate inclusion near the boundary and avoiding any type of a multi singularity (i.e. singularity depending on several points). Examples of such spaces are spaces of embeddings and spaces of non-k-equal immersions. As another example, one can forbid self-tangency or any mixed condition on self-intersection and local singularity at intersection points. The approach that we use is the Goodwillie-Weiss calculus, which naturally translates to the language of operads. Expect that the talk will heavily use operads and related objects.Date: Monday, April 16, 2018(Joint work with Julien Ducoulombier, ETH Zurich)
