I will speak about various results pertaining to isogenies between abelian varieties, including the Hecke orbit conjecture and the question of finding abelian varieties not isogenous to Jacobians. This is based on joint work with Tsimerman, Maulik-Tang, and Kisin-Lam-Srinivasan.
