Abstract:

Colin de Verdiere and Saint-Raymond introduced natural dynamical assumptions for self-adjoint 0th order pseudodifferential operators to model internal waves. Galkowski and Zworski defined resonances for such operators. In this talk, I will consider perturbations of 0th order operators. I will introduce series expansions of resonances near an embedded eigenvalue. The Fermi golden rule for single embedded eigenvalues is obtained as a special case. I will also introduce some recent progress on linearized internal waves if time permits.
