Abstract:

The Hamiltonian systems we discuss are those of Dubrovin and Novikov, defined on any flat manifold. We show that any formal deformation of the Hamiltonian structure has a normal form of a simple type.

These results have applications to the deformation theory of completely integrable hierarchies.
