Abstract:
Langlands conjectures predict the existence of certain remarkable functions (gamma-functions) on the set of irreducible representations of a reductive group G over a local field. In the talk I will show that the question of construction of these gamma-functions reduces to a purely algebraic problem (which, in particular, makes sense over an arbitrary field). I will also show some cases where this algebraic problem can be solved. Some applications to automorphic L-functions will be discussed.Date: Tuesday, May 16, 2000
