Abstract:
Abstract: Steinberg's twisted tensor product theorem is a linchpin in the representation theory of algebraic groups. There is some small evidence to suggest that there may be a generalization of Steinberg's theorem pertaining to indecomposable direct summands of a tensor product of two given irreducible modules. In any case, little is known about such indecomposables, in general, although they often seem to be closely related to Ringel's tilting modules. I will discuss what is known at present, and try to explain how this question interfaces with other questions in representation theory.Date: Tuesday, November 15, 2005
