Abstract:

I will discuss the proof of global well-posedness for the energy-critical NLS in all dimensions. In three dimensions this is due to Colliander, Keel, Staffilani, Takaoka, and Tao. Ryckman and I extended the result to four dimensions. In this talk, I will concentrate on dimensions five and higher and explain some of the new difficulties that arise primarily due to the low power of the nonlinearity.
