Abstract:

We study the hypercontractivity property on Markov semigroups. In case of the Ornstein-Uhlenbeck process, this was initially proved by E. Nelson in 1973. We will study this in relation to the logarithmc Sobolev inequalities introduced by L. Gross in 1976.
