Abstract:

Entropic Ricci curvature is a discrete analogue of lower bounds on Ricci curvature. It was introduced independently by Maas and Mielke in 2011. In this talk, I will present this notion, some examples of Markov chains with positive curvature, and applications to functional inequalities (logarithmic Sobolev inequalities, spectral gaps). Based on joint works with Jan Maas and with Matthias Erbar.
