Abstract:

There are several instances in algebraic geometry when one is led to study sequences of ideals that possess a certain convexity property, but are not finitely generated. Classical invariants of ideals can be adapted to this asymptotic setting, and there has been recent interest in the behavior of these invariants, motivated by questions related to the K-semistability of algebraic varieties. I will discuss the framework, the results and some intriguing open problems.
