People toss around buzz words like Big Data, Agile, Cloud computing and Microlocal analysis all the time. But do terms like that mean anything or are they just more marketing double-speak? In this talk we will answer one of those questions. We will introduce Pseudodifferential operators, the primary tools of Microlocal analysis, explain why you might think of them in the first place and then explore a proof they give of elliptic regularity.
