Abstract:

The study of convergence of multiple averages has a rich history, starting from Furstenberg’s proof of Szemer´edi’s Theorem via an ergodic theoretical analysis and its combinatorial consequences. While the L^{2} convergence of multiple averages has been widely studied, little results are known for the pointwise case. In this talk, I will talk about recent advances on pointwise multiple convergence problems for distal systems. This is joint work with Sebastain Donoso.
