Abstract:

Mirror symmetry relates symplectic geometry of a Calabi-Yau 3-fold X to complex geometry of a mirror Calabi-Yau 3-fold Y. Closed string mirror symmetry relates enumeration of holomorphic spheres in X to period integrals on Y; open string mirror symmetry relates enumeration of holomorphic disks in X to certain relative periods on Y. When X is toric, period integrals on Y can be reduced to periods and relative periods on a Riemann surface. This talk is based on joint work with Bohan Fang, Hsian-Hua Tseng, and Zhengyu Zong.
