Abstract:

The prestigious William Lowell Putnam Mathematical Competition will be held on Saturday, December 1. The Putnam Competition is open to all undergraduates interested in mathematics. This challenging exam features 12 hard problems (some very hard), though almost all are accessible to any student who has had a year of calculus. Prizes will be awarded to the top individuals and teams across the country.

To help prepare for this exam, we will be holding weekly problem-solving sessions. Any student interested in tackling difficult problems is welcome, regardless of whether s/he is planning on taking the Putnam exam.

In this meeting we will set the meeting time of subsequent problem solving sessions.
