Abstract:
We will review some of the problems that appeared in the Putnam Competition in the past and were easy in the sense that they were solved by a large number of participants. The ability to identify which problems are easier may help in a higher score since all problems are rated in the same 0-10 scale. Given that the median score in the exam is very low (often 0), even just one problem solved correctly, regardless of difficulty, places the participant in an advantageous position.Date: Thursday, November 29, 2018
