Abstract:

In 2006, two theoretical physicists, E. Bogomolny and C. Schmidt, used heuristic arguments of percolation on a lattice to study the vanishing locus of smooth random planar waves, which are related to the Laplacian. Another very natural model is the Bargmann-Fock model, which is related to to algebraic geometry. I will explain that for the latter model, percolation type theorems can be proved.
