Abstract:

Let G be a reductive algebraic group over C. The (derived) geometric Satake equivalence plays a central role in the geometric Langlands program: roughly, it describes the category of constructible sheaves of C-vector spaces on Bun_G(S^2) in terms of the Langlands dual group G^. In this talk, I will describe some ongoing work which analyzes the story obtained by instead studying the category of constructible sheaves of A-modules on Bun_G(S^2), where A is a complex-oriented even-periodic E_infty-ring. When G is finite, Bun_G(S^2) = BG; when A is a Morava E-theory, this category was essentially described by Hopkins-Kuhn-Ravenel. We will see that many aspects of their work have natural analogues in the generality when G is reductive. This talk will be served with a generous helping of questions/further directions.
