Understanding the asymptotic behavior of solutions to the (linear) Klein-Gordon equation on asymptotically Minkowski spacetimes near null infinity poses several technical challenges not present in understanding the situation away from null infinity. After outlining the difficulties of applying ready-made tools from the sc-calculus of Parenti--Shubin--Melrose to the problem, we will present a novel microlocal framework which allows a detailed study of the relevant propagation phenomena.
