We give an index formula calculating the anomalous chiral current for a new class of states on globally hyperbolic spacetimes. The analytic continuation of these states to imaginary time does not satisfy a Riemannian version of the Dirac equation, but does satisfy the Lorentzian Dirac equation prior to analytic continuation.
