Abstract:

This research is motivated by challenging questions related to the absolute Galois group of rational numbers and the Grothendieck-Teichmueller (GT) group introduced by V. Drinfeld in 1990. In my talk, I will recall (a version of) the Grothendieck-Teichmueller group. I will introduce the groupoid of GT-shadows, and describe its link to the group GT. I will also talk about the action of the groupoid of GT-shadows on Grothendieck's child's drawings. My talk is loosely based on papers "What are GT-shadows?" (joint with Khanh Q. Le, Aidan A. Lorenz) arxiv.org/abs/2008.00066 and "The Action of GT-Shadows on Child's Drawings" arxiv.org/abs/2106.06645
