The nascent theory of prismatic F-gauges aims to provide a theory of coefficients for prismatic cohomology, and may be regarded as an approximation to ``p-adic motives in p-adic geometry''. This talk will give an introduction to this concept, with the aim of explaining the relationship between prismatic F-gauges over Spf(Z_p) and crystalline Galois representations of the absolute Galois group of Q_p. (This is joint work with Lurie, and builds on work of Drinfeld.)
