We shall describe a class of finite element methods using discontinuous elements and a class of Riemann solvers in solving conservation laws and other convection dominated problems. Recent methods for treating small diffusive terms will be discussed. Numerical results will be demonstrated. This is joint work with Bernardo Cockburn.
