Given two self-adjoint, positive, compact operators $A$, $B$ on a separable Hilbert space, we show that $\lim_{t\rightarrow\infty} (e^{\frac{Bt}{2}}e^{At}e^{\frac{Bt}{2}})^{\frac{1}{t}}$ exists in the norm topology. Moreover, this limit operator is of the form $e^C$ with $C$ compact and nonnegative.
