Thunderbird Not Receiving Emails

This problem started over the 2022-2023 Winter break.

The user gets a pop-up saying:

The current operation on 'Inbox' did not succeed, The mail server for account [your email address] responded: User is autheticated but not connected.

followed by:

Server [account name] has disconnected. The server may have gone down or there may be a network problem.
 

The solution can be found here.

The solution steps are as follows:

  1. In Thunderbird, go to Settings → General → Config Editor → Show All.
  2. Type network.dns.dis in the search field
  3. Select the very first option and click on the toggle arrow on the right, make it true.
  4. Close and reopen Thunderbird.
