The Mathematical Experience for Northwestern Undergraduates (MENU) is a flexible program of courses designed to provide qualified undergraduates with a thorough foundation in mathematics suitable for advanced study in mathematics and its applications across a wide range of disciplines.
MENU offers students an opportunity to expand their mathematical knowledge while retaining flexibility about their majors. MENU is especially well suited for students considering a major in mathematics, the natural sciences or economics, although MENU attracts participants with a variety of interests and majors.
The Integrated Science Program (ISP) has selected some of the brightest science students for a challenging, tailor-made honors curriculum that integrates mathematics with the sciences.
The Wisconsin Emerging Scolars (WES) provides motivated students with an opportunity to study calculus in a challenging, friendly, and multicultural environment. WES discussion sections meet for six hours per week, and their enrollment is capped at sixteen students.
The Engineering Summer Program (ESP) is a six-week residential summer program for rising junior and senior highschool students. The program provides intense instruction in mathematics, chemistry, technical writing, and physics, along with an introduction to engineering. ESP is geared towards students from groups which are traditionally under-represented in science, technology, engineering, and math.
The Summer Collegiate Experience (SCE) program provides students involved with select pre-college programs at UW-Madison an opportunity to take intense, official courses during the summer before their first year in college. Students in the program work within a diverse group of incoming first-year students, making many personal connections while sharpening their academic skills.
