Lecture notes:

  • Schrödinger evolution and geometry
  • (From Oberwolfach program on "Analysis and Geometry Singularities", August 23, 2007.)

  • Microlocal analysis and evolution equations
  • (From CMI 2008 Summer School on Evolution Equations.) This is a more or less final version.

  • Geometric optics and its limitations
  • (From MSRI Evans lecture, September 22, 2008.)

  • Geometry and analysis of diffracted waves
  • (From invited address at AMS Fall Sectional Meeting at Notre Dame, November 5, 2010; similar content to Evans lecture above.)

  • Mechanics for mathematicians
  • (Lecture notes for Math 327. These are a work in progress and comments are welcome.)

  • UNC PDE Mini-School Problem Set
  • (From UNC PDE/Analysis Mini-School on "Trapping, diffraction, and decay of waves," December 5-7 2018.)

  • The Fourier transform and distribution theory
  • These are notes from my lectures at the SNAP 2019 summer school in semiclassical analysis, held at Northwestern. Collin Kofroth kindly took these notes and typed them up, with corrections and improvements. The lectures are not very original (I gave references in person but they are not in the notes). In particular, the discerning reading will note considerable borrowing from books of Lars Hörmander, Gerard Friedlander, Jeff Rauch, and Michael Taylor, as well as the influence of Richard Melrose.
